Character interview with Alexander Armstrong
by Author Stacy Eaton
Book Titles: My Blood Runs Blue & Blue Blood for Life
Something about your character I would notice as they arrive, something they might be wearing, something about their looks, or maybe their demeanor:
Alex is tall, slim, longer wavy hair that comes down to his shoulders. His eyes are a deep emerald green and he has a very strong commanding presence.
Please give me a 250-500 word blurb about your book from your Character’s POV. Please make sure you tell me who your character is too.
My name is Alexander Armstrong and I have lived a long life. I am the head of the VMF, the Vampire Military Force. We are the ones who reign over our kind to keep them in line. We believe in peace, we want to love and we want to live our lives quietly.
Our story begins years before our creator wrote the book. Back in a time when I was in love with a woman named Calista and she was the one I wanted to spend my life with. Unfortunately, that was not to be. I made the mistake of introducing Calista to Julian and the chemistry between them was too strong for me to compete with.
Calista was killed by Damon, a vampire who was hell bent on ending our race. Her death was hard on both Julian and me, although I must admit Julian did suffer greatly because of her death at the hands of Damon.
Many years later as we continue to search for Damon, Julian stumbles on a woman that brings back the haunting memories of Calista. In a small township in Pennsylvania, Kristin Greene is investigating the death of a young woman she believes to be human. Quickly she finds out that is not the case and is pulled into our world to learn of our past and to learn of the woman Julian and I loved.
Kristin must make a decision between us and we know that it is hard for her as she does not know all the details of our history. We try to protect her the best way that we can because we know that Damon will be coming for her soon.
As My Blood Runs Blue ends, Kristin has made her choice and we believe that we might all get back to a quiet and peaceful life.
Little did we know that when Blue Blood for Life starts, Kristin gets herself involved in something that affects us all more than any of us will ever know. I get kidnapped by Burke the vampire we have been watching. Julian and Gabe must protect Kristin as they figure out how to rescue me, and Trent will enter the scene to confuse matter further.
My love for Kristin will never end, but circumstances will change the way we all care for one another. My only hope is that I will be rescued before she is hurt, and that we can all move back into peaceful lives.
We all want to be different, so what is the one thing you wish your creator had done differently with you?
I wish that I had not waited so long to tell Calista how I felt. I might have had her rather than losing her to the lustful feelings of Jules. Although, when Kristin comes into our lives, I do get a chance to try again.
If you could have added something to the story, and your creator would have let you, what would that have been?
I would have added more a bit more history to show the love I had for Calista. That way readers would have known that just because she was Julian’s mate, my heart bleed for her loss. I also would have tried to find a way to forgive Julian, and try to mend our friendship that suffered for 40 years.
What do you love best about yourself? What do you like least?
I am a strong man, not just physically, but mentally. I command attention when I walk in a room and I like that about myself. I like that people want to respect me, and that I can lead the VMF so well.
I believe the one thing I wish I could do better is listening to others. I have a hard time actually listening to what Kristin says, and at times I don’t do it very well. I know she can see that I don’t hear all that she says, but there are times when I am more concerned with my own wants then those of hers.
What part of the book was the hardest for you and your creator to work through?
My creator struggled with how much I would have to endure during my captivity. She wanted to prove a point, but didn’t want to make it gross or degrading. I thought she did a good job of showing my pain, and my weakness without making me look like a loser.
Is there a sequel for this book? If so, what do you want to accomplish in the next book. If not, do you wish you could continue your story?
There are four books to the series. Ms. Eaton has released My Blood Runs Blue and Blue Blood for Life and is currently working on book 3. She won’t disclose the title of this work yet, even to me. In Blue Blood, you meet some of Kristin’s friends. Her best friend Olivia will be a large part of book 3 along with Gabriel. The suspense will keep up with new elements, and a major change will occur that will split the characters, put them all at odds with each other. Will the love that we all feel, survive the major upset that Ms. Eaton has planned for us, I don’t know. You will have to keep your eye out to find out.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
If you want to find out more about Kristin, you can read the character interview that she did on Ms. Eaton’s blog. It is rare for Kristin to speak openly, and this will give you an idea of what goes on in her head. Thank you Donna for allowing Alexander to talk to everyone today. He is a pretty quiet guy – so this was big for him!!
I love it when characters from books do the interviews. It’s a chance for us to see another side of them. 😀
Stina – I do too! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
